Cookie policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Tenlord (“we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on tenlord.uk and related Service pages. It should be read with our privacy policy and GDPR overview.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and scripts that read or write identifiers on your device. In this policy, we use “cookies” to cover these technologies where relevant.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep you signed in and secure your account sessions.
- Remember your cookie consent choices.
- Operate core site and product functionality.
- Measure site usage with analytics tools only if you opt in to non-essential cookies.
3. Your choices
When you first visit, we show a cookie banner so you can accept or reject non-essential (analytics) cookies. You can change your mind at any time using in the footer, or by clearing site data in your browser.
Strictly necessary cookies are set because they are required to provide a service you request (for example login). Under UK/EU rules, those typically do not require consent.
4. Cookie categories
Strictly necessary
Required for authentication, security, load balancing, and remembering your consent decision so we do not repeatedly show the banner incorrectly.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| auth_token | HttpOnly session cookie used to authenticate you after login. Required to access protected areas of the Service. | About 1 hour (aligned with session lifetime) |
| tenlord_cookie_consent | Stores a compact mirror of your analytics consent choice so the correct banner state can be shown on first paint. | Up to 1 year (or until you clear it) |
| tenlord.cookie-consent | Browser localStorage record of your full consent preference (including version and timestamp). Not a HTTP cookie, but used for the same preference purpose. | Until cleared or consent version changes |
Analytics (optional — consent required)
We only load Google Analytics (GA4) after you opt in through our cookie controls. If you decline or later withdraw consent, analytics scripts are not loaded (or are stopped) and we do not use them to measure your browsing.
| Provider | Purpose | When set |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics (GA4) | Helps us understand aggregate traffic, page views, and product events so we can improve the Service. Cookies and identifiers are controlled by Google according to their terms when consent is granted. | Only after analytics consent |
Google may process analytics data outside the UK/EEA subject to appropriate safeguards. See Google's documentation for details of their cookies and processing.
5. What we do not do by default
- We do not load Google Analytics until you opt in.
- We do not use non-essential marketing or advertising cookies for third-party ad targeting as part of our standard cookie setup described here.
- We do not sell your personal data.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Service (including login) may not work. Blocking analytics cookies does not prevent you from using core product features.
7. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Where appropriate, we may ask you to review cookie preferences again (for example if the consent version changes).
